I actually mentioned this in the article but maybe I should elaborate some more. Tim Berners-Lee invented the protocol that enables computers to network (ethernet or internet) but it was Robert Cailliau who invented the hyperlink system that creates our web.

The pair then later collaborated to create the first World Wide Web.

So Tim invented the protocol that became the internet, Robert invented the file structuring that creates Webs. But they both founded the World Wide Web although Tim takes the lead for it when was rolled out to the public.

So while you are right in saying Tim BL invented the World Wide Web he didn’t invent the technology of a Web, that goes to Robert Cailliau.
