Hi Garry, I didn’t go into detail on this article but atmospheric phenomena and interference can still create miss readings on the most complex of radar systems. The filters and bypasses used are not infallible and it is the radar operators job to tune them. Yes the technology is far better than WWII but not 100% accurate
