There Is A New EV King
Move over, Tesla, and all hail the insanely fast and efficient McMurtry Spéirling.
For decades, EVs had a performance problem and were known for being ludicrously slow. But then, in 2008, the original Tesla Roadster was launched, and the world suddenly realised that EVs could be insanely fast. While combustion-engined road cars continue to dominate on the track, the title of the fastest accelerating road vehicle has been firmly held by EVs: most notably, the Tesla Model S Plaid and Rimac Nevera. But a relatively unknown manufacturer has just destroyed both Tesla and Rimac in the 0–60 race, beaten F1 cars around a circuit, and even has a 350-mile driving range. Welcome to the utterly mad world of the McMurtry Spéirling.
The YouTube behemoth that is Mat Watson and his CarWow Channel was recently given both the keys to a Spéirling and access to the famous Silverstone Circuit (view video above).
